I saw Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets today. And am rather glad I did. Whilst it could be argued that, at a basic level, it was just a rehash of the first story, it was considerably darker and more scary. The giant spiders in the forest were a particular highlight, as was the ghost of Moaning Molly (is that right?) in the girls toilet. I mean, who else would say:

"I was just sitting in the U-bend, thinking about death."

I also saw The Royal Tenenbaums, which has to be one of the world's overlooked masterpieces. The film was a joy, on all levels, from start to finish. Will someone please raise Wes Anderson's profile?! The wonderful Rushmore, and now this? The guy deserves about a gazillion oscars.
