Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

I thought that driving away from it all would help. So I drove. For three hours and about 200 miles.

I saw a thousand faces, all driving away from somewhere. Some were tired, some content, some happy, some determined. Some seemed lonely.

And the sun shone and the wind blew. And I carried on driving.

But the truth is, you can't drive away from it. It crawls along behind you, just out of sight, like the nightmare figure from your dreams that walks as you run, but never loses you.

It's always there, whispering sweet nastiness in your ear.

You can drive at 80mph in the wrong direction, and it will still find you.
