I Think The Crowd's Gone Crazy
(24.06.2003 - 11:35 a.m.)

Yesterday was absolutely stonking. We left the house at 8:30am and drove the two and a half hours to Milton Keynes. We then queued from around 11:30am until 2pm when the gates opened.

From 2pm until 6pm it was all about the food and the sunbathing. Oh, and keeping our places near the front of the 60,000 strong crowd. Then the evening went as follows:

  • 6:00pm - Xzibit
  • 7:00pm - Cypress Hill
  • 8:00pm - Obie Trice
  • 8:45pm - Eminem feat. D12
It was a fantastic concert. All the acts were on top form, as it was the last night of the Anger Management dates at Milton Keynes. And I had no idea that Cypress Hill were due to be playing, so it was fantastic to see some old-school thrown into the bill.

The one disappointment was that we had all thought that 50 Cent was supposed to be playing as well, but it turns out he was only ever going to play the Saturday night, and had therefore already flown back to the US.

There was a moment, just before Eminem came on, when the crowd came close to getting dangerous, having become bored with the long wait for Em's stage gear to be set up, but it soon passed.

We bounced the night away to Em's better and lesser known songs until around 11pm (a long set for Eminem, I'm told) and then finished on an encore of My Dad's Gone Crazy.

The funniest part of the evening? When a bunch of really posh British people took up positions next to us, speaking in their hugely posh voices. And instead of slumming it like the rest of us? They had champagne and wine in their plastic bottles!

Only in England, baby. Only in England.
